Complete set of "part machined"
castings for an engine similar to this. Purchased in
1977, the casting will have nicely aged by now. Comes with the
original Stuart-Turner catalogue, full plans and drawings,
plus all parts and materials needed to complete a working
Stuart-Turner "Cygnet", single cylinder double-acting 1-1/2 Hp
marine steam engine.
Our original intention was to fit this into a
full-sized "Edwardian-Style" steam launch, for use on the
river.
The completed engine will quite happily drive a small hull up to
about 10 foot in length. It would require a gas, parraffin or
coal-fired boiler, producing about 100psi to drive it properly.
A really interesting project for a suitably equipped home model
engineering enthusiast.
I have a large quantity of Dinky, Matchbox, Lesney toys etc. None of them boxed, all 'pre-owned' (but well loved!). Some are still in quite good condition, others are just 'very old' - from the 1950's onwards.
We've checked out the magazines and more than some of them would be worth good money to a collector. We are inclined to think that at one tenth of the prices quoted, they would still be worth buying? I will publish a list of all the model No's and condition later, but for now:-
